About us

St. Xavier’s College of Education was established in 1950 in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu, with the aim of educating the young boys and girls of Tirunelveli region and empowering them to be men and women who would in turn cause social transformation. It also envisages a new society based on brotherhood, social justice and dignity of the downtrodden, which would be possible on earth only by future citizen of India. This in turn presupposes the presence of potential and committed teachers, who would form and mold the little ones of our country. Thus, the vision of our college is expressed in the following way:

Our College aims at the integral formation of prospective teachers and the promotion of educational research at the service of our youth for the establishment of a just and humane society.

AASAAN is a unique feature of St. Xavier’s college of education. It always aims at reaching out to all the nations.  In order to reach out to all the nations, digitization is an effective and fast medium today. And so SXCE has come up with this new feature in its mission, i.e. digitizing the literary and artistic works of its students so that they are readily accessible to all the people through AASAAN (E-Magazine).
